NO!!!!!! Bedknobs and Broomsticks is a classic film, it should stay exactly as it is complete with jingoistic ending. I love it. I love Mary Poppins too. It doesn't matter that they were originally books (was B&B a book?), these films are now works of art in their own right. Christ almighty, would you think of recreating David by Michaelangelo? I mean, why not? David is a biblical character - why not make a better version, more fitting for the modern age?
OK, a bit over the top. But really, what the hell? Make up your own bloody films, for crying out loud, or find some new books to adapt - there's loaRAB of them. Leave my childhood alone.
