Martin Scorsese's The Departed. Who wants to see this.

*sceptical eyebrow* I'm not so sure, to be honest. His last good film is 'Casino', which was made in 1995, but even then there are cracks in this film. I think he's jumped the shark.

Yes Casino is certainly not a classic, but streets ahead of most directors out there.
One of the problems in gangs to me what his use of music, he is usally second to none in this department..see Goodfellas, but it spoilt the expereince for me before it even started .. one of the probelms there were others.

Saying that this man made Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, The king of Comedy and The Colour of Money. All fantastic so I am not going to write him off yet although I do take your point his last good film was a while ago.

I'm having faith for 2 reasons. Its his favorite genre. Its getting good reviews. Yeah, his last few films are neither here nor there, not bad, just not that good.

Still, i'll wait till i see it to pass judgement. I've read some scorsese sceptics really praise it.

He didn't write the movie or the screenplay all he did was direct the film with the material he was given I don't get all this talk about if anyone could do it better than the original its Scorsecee

Just watch Infernal Affairs instead. All US 'remakes' are rubbish. No one will match the talents of the guy who looks like a big baby (Sam). :p

taxi driver. raging bull. goodfellas. mr scorsese could elect to do nothing but direct ferrero rocher aRAB from his jaccuzzi for the rest of his allotted span and it would be ok by me. (btw not everyone thinks the aviator was mediocre by his or any other standarRAB)

Thanks for the feeback from those that have seen it. :)

Glad so far it's living up to what it's hyped up to be...but a few views posted so far are a minority vote....so we need more.

Looking forward to reviewing it myself. ;) :)
