I go to a Thai Boxing class a couple of times a week. When I got home last night after a sparring session and was getting ready for my shower, as I put my right foot on the floor my second toe was suddenly in excruciating pain. I almost passed out with the agony and didn't know what to do. It looked as though my toe had popped out of position and was pointing upwards with a kind of lump at the base like something was sticking out. I'm not sure if it was bone or muscle or a tendon that caused this though. I don't think I broke it though as as quickly as the pain came, it went. So I went downstairs and it happened again - I was nearly sick with the agony of it and again was convinced that something was seriously wrong. My husband was ready to take me to hospital by this stage but again the pain subsided after a few minutes. I feel OK today but am worried that it might happen again. I was just wandering if this had happened to anyone else and couild it happen again? If so how could I prevent it? We spar with bare feet although sometimes I wear anklets but nothing on my toes. Serious answers only please. Thanks!
