Marley & Me

Anyone looking forward to seeing this film?

I've just finished reading the book, and oh my god I sobbed my heart out! What a heart-warming, funny, and emotional story - i loved it. I never read books, let alone cry at them! Just thought i'd give this one a go cos i'd heard people talking about it, i'm a dog lover myself, and I was interested in seeing the film so I wanted to know more about it.

Really can't wait for it's release on Friday now. I'll be sure take a box of tissues and wear waterproof mascara lol!

Any animal lovers should beware before going to see this. It's not really a comedy like advertised and is incredibly emotional at the end. Cried my eyes out. Any dog owners or anyone who's ever had a dog will be able to relate to this story. I've never seen so many people come out of a cinema crying before - men, women and children.

I was supposed to go out after the film but was too upset and just wanted to go home to be with my dogs. Dom't get me wrong, i loved the film. Just a simple story of two newly-weRAB and their lives over 10 or so years after buying a dog but i honestly don't think i could watch again!

I saw this at the weekend and agree it is very emotional at the end. I was desperately trying to stop myself sobbing then all I could hear round the cinema were people who hadn't managed to and there were sobs and sniRAB abound. It took me back to when I was with my dog when she died about 14 years ago:( All in all a good film.

I found the lack of aging of Owen and Jen annoying but otherwise this film was fantastic.

Its sub story about growing up and dealing with life changes, unfulfilled ambitions and the challenges of family life equally as moving as the dog story. TowarRAB the middle and end of the film I almost felt like the dog wasnt the main focus of the film anymore (in a good way). I als found the utter banality of the family's story quite positive- this is about real family life, not some OTT Hollywood sctick! I found its "normality" quite refreshing...

Ive read some reviews of the movie saying that the family are boring and ordinary- but isnt that the point of the film?? A normal family dealing with lifes challenges....

And in spite of the tough ending the last shot is very uplifting!

I am tempted to go see it just to annoy J Ross. He said it was about a basically happy family, and nobody wants to see that. I do like to see relationships that work. One of the things that I disliked about "Look Who's Talking Too" is that much of it covered a couple who weren't working, as opposed to the first film where they got on just fine.

Actually I'm mildly impressed that Ross's review didn't have the hints about the last 10 minutes that this thread has had.

Went to see this movie today. Jen and Owen were a bit too unconvincing for me, a little bit over the top. I'd rather have seen more of the dog. All twenty or so of the stand in's of Marley were lovely though.

The ending was exactly what happened with my dog last year. The Sky new website has this down as a 'feel good' movie. I was a bloody wreck bawling my eyes out at the end! :o

Oh great.

It has a sad ending?! :( I don't think I'll watch this...

All films with animals always have a sad ending & I really don't like it. :'(
