I thought her speech was the best thing at the Oscars. She showed great confidence and humility and actually strung some sentences together. It was a great gesture by Jon Stewart to allow her to come back on stage and make the speech. She did herself and her partner very proud.

I also thought that Jon Stewart was a really good host. He was very funny and really classy especially in that moment.
 
She was a very deserving winner - I went to see 'Once' because there wasn't anything else on, and it was probably the best film I saw all year.
 
Yes, it would! I read somewhere that she and Glen Hansard were an item but had the impression they didn't live in Ireland (which evidently they do). Anyway, it just struck me that it's unusual for someone from Central Europe to pick up an English accent when they live in England - maybe the Dublin accent is easier to acquire.
