Marine Corps pre-boot camp diet?

Any Marines out there know a good diet to lose weight in preparation for boot camp. Im about 220 and the max weight for my height is 218 but I have a decent amount of fat in my midsection that I would like to lose so I could see myself being down to about 180-190. My recruiter gave me a version of the fat-burning soup diet which I did for a week and lost about 8lbs but the starvation diet approach felt very unhealthy while I was on it and most of the weight I lost returned quickly once I quit the diet. Also I hear that the starvation diets like that often leave loose skin due to the dramatic weight loss in the short time period.

Start jogging now,you will put on a whole lot of miles "Double-time" in recruit training. You will be marched(in formation)every where you go,a lot of it running with gear on.You are only two pounds over now, whats the big deal?Your first week at MCRD you will lose 10%of your weight. On graduation day you will be a WHOLE NEW PERSON entirely.Trust me.Good luck Poolee.
