You will in 1 paragraph summarize the main point of your topic (who what where when and why important). You will then compare these main points from your modern source (internet, etc.) to your scholarly work (book). You will finalize your paper with a paragraph critically analyzing the 2 sources. Which had more info? which utilized better written expression? which utilitzed better available resources? Which was generally more valuable to you as a student? This is not a paper so you can tell me a story that i can find off the internet. It is an education project designed to utilize available resources and to develop critical thinking skills. Any paper that uses only internet sources will be graded in half. Any paper that simply tells me a story will be graded in half.
No late assignments accepted. I will give you until the last possible date to turn in papers. Early papers will be rewarded with extra points. Your paper must have a list of sources at the end. Choose your topic based on having an available book that you can compare the information to.
All idea that are not your own need to be footnoted, exact quotations from other works need to be in quotation marks and footnoted. All papers need to have a bibliography at the end f the paper citing all sources consulted. General reference and the course textbook materials are not considered sources for your paper but can assist in giving you direction to get started.
Paper will be graded on the use of your own words, use of footnotes in your work, amount of analysis, following directions, and general writing skills.
papers are to be 5 pages, double spaced, 12 font, 1 inch margins all around, no header or footer, single title page, one staple upper left hand corner. Minus 20 points for every step not followed.
