She did speak French when they were in the garden and she was picking flowers of something like that

I think they ignored a lot about the French's people feelings toward her. They only made a passing reference about the cake scandal. That scandal was huge, and I didn't hear the "Baker's wife" reference in the movie.

I just wondered why they kept saying that the doctors told him he was fine and responsive when I read that he had to have surgury to correct a problem.

Why did they never mention the surgury?

I loved the colors. Made me hungry  very visually stimulating

I didn't get that impression. I got the feeling that she was only a fashion icon amoung her friends and upper class. I don't remember any scene saying she was one to the poor French citizens.

LiT was a bit too slow and not as visually stunning. The story didn't grab me as much either.

I just can't beleive they took it out of the theater so fast

Which was everyone's fav costume?

Those icons are gorgeous! The movie is such a visual feast.

I agree. I just thought that the movie should've spent a little more time on this very important turning point, even if from her POV.

oh, i never saw this thread, and sometime ago I even looked for it LoL

this is one of my favourite movies. Sophia is perfect. Kristen is perfect. The music. The colors. Jason. Everything.

it was just too long and slow for me. if she cut it in 1/2 than maybe I would've liked it

I haven't seen Lost in Translation, it didn't look interesting and I'm not a Bill Murray fan

awww.

Those kids were cute. I thought I heard the little daughter with a French accent. I was like "how funny that she sounds different from her mommy and daddy."

I think the film was meant to focus on Marie's early life or her 'behind the scenes-self". Not so much what the people involved with the revolution thought. The movie was meant to be fun, I think, and the revolution was not fun (obviously)
I ended up feeling bad for her and I think we're meant to. I also wondered if she had done things differently - like addressed the rumors - would she have lived?
