ok so im doing marching band and this year (my freshman year) im doing trombone (which i do really love its so fun low brass is awesome)
BUT
i am a drummer at heart. drumming is my life. i have never done anything percussion in band before including regular band class. but not to bragg but i play drum set like a beast and i do rudiments like crazy. the thing is i just dont know if i want to leave low brass (keep in mind ive been loyal to this instrument for 4 years now) and i dont know if i just want to give it up. its so fun.
but the drum line seems amazing! and i can play just as good as those seniors can!
ok so look- i want to do the tenor drums (the five set of drums) next year
but i dont know how good ill be at them. i know i can do the beats and i have that down and stuff, but i dont know how to read drum music. plus ive never actually played on the instrument just tapped the beat with my fingers and did it on snare
so will i survive tenor drum without knowing how to read music??? but being able to play like a beast at the stuff i know?? uughh i know its sort of an odd-worded question but i hope you guys understand what im saying??? its really hard to explain my situation lol sorry about any confusion X(
