Ok I'm in a marching band. I'm a total geek. Now in my state, Marching Band Takes care of my PE credits. I never have to set foot in the gym again. I was curious on your thoughts of whether it is a sport or not.
To make a few points....
1.You excersize a lot.
2. You compete a lot.
3. You are like a family, just like any other team.
4. It takes hours every week. My school personally takes 10 hours of practice a week, and then expects at least 5 hours of your own free time. But I do know that other schools have much harsher practice times.
4. You wear uniforms just like any other sports teams.
5.You have to use a ton of technique...and know what your doing and when just like any other sport.
I know that any other band kid in the world....which is like a million people will agree with me that it is a sport. I want to know what other people think, and if they don't think that it i a sport, I want an explanation of why and for you tell me if you have ever tried doing the technique it takes.
