Many answers here mentioned the points & sometimes people complain about points.

Why do points matter? Once you have enough points to ask your questions, how do they matter? It's not like they represent an accomplishment. (One can get 20 points answering yes/no long before an intelligent answerer earns 2 points.) Yet, I've seen people get angry about who got the points for best answer. Am I missing something? Does Ronald McDonald give you a cookie or something?

I was wondering the same thing. I just got enough points to reach level 4, but nothing happened except that the number next to "Level" in my profile is now a 4 instead of a 3, so I was just wondering, what's the point of points.

For some it really doesn't matter. They burn level five accounts all the time by asking questions that violate the ToS.

It's taken me a year to get to level six with ONE account. How the heck some of these people do it multiple times a year is beyond me.

As for BA, I remember an atheist-directed question regarding how others chose said honor. Some admitted to going round-robin through their contacts.

Many others simply award it to each other in a reciprocal fashion.

You learn quickly that points are indicative of absolutely nothing on R&S.

You're right. Anybody can write down and crappy thing and get points for it. Also, what's w/ the ice cream flavor that you think Jesus would be and questions like that? I guess it's just a status thing.

I use to really be a points junkie, then i came to the same conclusion as you did.
