A vehicle with manual transmission can move after shifting the gear(while parked with no key in ignition). And a vehicle with an automatic transmission won't change gears without a key in the ignition, and thus cannot be pushed without a key. I've had more experience with cars with manual transmissions and my question is why can't gears in an automatic car change while parked, with no key? And if you were to only insert a key, without starting the car, would the car's gears be able to shift to say neutral, to push the vehicle?
