Manga/Anime centering around or featuring a celebrity appearance?

US cartoons and comics have been known for milking celebrities here and there (like cartoons featuring Chuck Norris, Mr. T or Jackie Chan).

That said, one example I'm familiar with interms of Anime is Minami Takayama voicing herself in Detective Conan (in addition to voicing the title character). She appeared in the Volume 15 of the manga, with said story adapted into episodes 81-82 of the anime. The story of course acknowledge the fact that both Conan and Minami sound the same.

So, any other occasions of manga/anime featuring a celebrity or featuring an appearance by them (as themselves rather than voicing another character.
 
Not sure if this counts, but there was an opening of "Crazy Rainbow Star" from One Piece that had the singers of the song, Tackey and Tsubasa appearing in it at random parts of the opening and interacting with the Strawhats as well. I think it appeared in Episode 303.
 
The 2008 version of Yattaman sprinkles in plenty of Japanese celebrities (Kyoko Fukuda, etc.), in-show advertising (Yattaman RAB game, 12th Case Closed movie) and characters from Tatsunoko's other series (Speed Racer, Gatchaman, other Time Bokan series, etc.). Or parodies of real people:

Obama-kun and Hirari-chan
Takeshi Miike (only in appearance and not in voice)
Jack Pauer (voiced by Rikiya Koyama, Japanese voice of Jack Bauer)
 
Gintama has a few - mostly Japanese stars (or parodies there of) but Will Smith and Jackie Chan make appearances. X)



I had to check that out. Ffffffffffffffffff so putting this on my "to watch" list. XD
 
One Piece is noted for taking alot of inspiration from American celebrities/mascots. On a similar note, at least two seperate Gundam heroines have been stated to be based on Audrey Hepburn. Keroro Gunsou has a cameo for George Bush and Al Gore.

Stretching a bit, but SD Gundam had a one off gag character called Jean Claude Gundam. The entire joke was he thought he was a tough guy but is beat up by each of the main cast who he foolishly picks fights with.
 
One episode of Cutie Honey featured a nuraber of wax figures that looked like celebrities and historical figures. At one point, Honey hides with wax figures of The Beatles. One of the villians even stopped and asked "Wait, aren't there only four beatles?"
 
The Legend of Koizumi is about Japan's ex-Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi challenging world leaders to games of Mahjong. No, I'm not making this up.
 
An episode of Lucky Star opened with Konata and co. attending an Aya Hirano concert. An animated likeness of Miss Hirano herself was shown singing "God Knows" from another KyoAnimation show where she also voices the main character.
 
Kirarin Revolution is a show created around a meraber of Morning Musume who did the lead voice. It had multiple episodes featuring guest stars from Japanese idol/variety shows doing voices.

The Pretty Cure series has had a couple of "special guest" episodes, usually with pretty well known stand up comedians where they voice animated versions of themselves, or specially created characters. The sidekick characters in the PC5 movie as well as an episode of Fresh featuring a manzai duo come to mind.

Kaito Reina which is currectly streaming on Crunchyroll is another show which is basically promotional material for the star.
