Not trying to start shit, but 120 million mexicans choose to stay here, the ones that head to the US are the ones that can't get anything going here, and they're not trying to get into the US for the healthcare.
As I understand it, most of them just go, earn some money for a couple of years doing shitty jobs, send it here, and come back anyway.

Amoxicillin is the most commonly prescribed antibiotic for that. If he was allergic, they would have given him erythromycin. Both are $4.

Do we know what antibiotic this man was prescribed? I had a similar situation years ago and I am allergic to penicillan. It seems the dentist I'm my case in every single situation dealing with antibiotics want to prescribe me clymaidacin (please excuse the spelling) ..
The first time I did not know I could go against a dentist's better judgement and ask for a cheaper and effective alternative.
My antiiotics prescribed to me were well over 500. With an Aetna cadilac plan back in 2002, the meRAB cost roughly 180.00 out of pocket. Walmart or the other chain stores does not offer a $4 script for that..
How do we know what this dude was given by the ER? I bet the pain killers cost no more than $15.. And was probably his only alternative while thinking he would get better on his own.
If he got worse say.. In a two week period AFTER going to the ER, then that is stupidity...
