I went to see Mamma mia last night and have to say its the best film ive seen for ages and wanted to know when it will be out on Dvd??

I bet it will be the BBC,s Chrismas big film for Christmas 2009!!!!

Also i see my local vue is showing the sing along version off the film from Friday whats that all about?

This is top of my xmas list :p Absolutly love it! I'm not going to pre-order because i have a feeling it could be cheap when it comes out, i remember James Bond being

Same here, almost makes going to the cinema pointless now, unless it's a big 'spectacle' of a film the cost is just too high especially when you can own the DVD in 5 months for just a few quid more!

lol, I think it will still be in cinemas then, they are making so much money out of it. Obviously they need to stick to that DVD release date to get massive Christmas sales. I bet they wish they'd put the films in cinemas a month earlier now.

To be honest it is pointless now. With a 42" and brilliant surround sound the credit crunch and noisy audiences have made it worth the wait.

There's no chance it will be on that early on a terrestrial channel.

"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" didn't get its UK terrestrial premiere until christmas 2003.That was 2 years after the movie had been released in the cinemas.

Yeah, it is always between 2 and 4 years for a film to be shown on terrestrials.

I think it usually goes like this:

Cinema Release - shown for up to 2 months or so
DVD Release - around 5 months after cinema release
Sky Box Office - between 8 and 10 month after cinema release
Sky Movies - between 12 and 14 months after cinema release
Terrestrial TV - between 2 and 4 years after cinema release

The only exceptions to the terrestrial rule is films made by the channel's own production company (The Queen and Mrs Henderson Presents are examples)
