Malcolm McDowell

He can currently be Seen in the Halloween Remake in the role of Dr Loomis (orginally played by Donald Pleasence) A very good performance.

He's great as HG Wells in the classic Time After Time made in 1979.

This is where he met his future wife Mary Steenburgen.

IF has just been released as a 2 disc special edition and the totally uncut Caligula is due anyday as a 4 disc set complete with McDowell/Mirren commentary.

Obviously the latter wont be out on R2 UK

I've always wondered that. It was only released on DVD a couple of months ago as well.

Yes, IF and A Clockwork Orange best performances from McDowell.

A great actor for sure but I found him to be very low key in Halloween, not really on top form in this movie.
Maybe on second thoughts he should of watched the Halloween series afterall to see what shoes he was to be stepping into...

I have only watched the workprint version of the film And I thought his performance was good although I have to agree with you that he was having to fill some big shoes.

Very underrated. His best role was Benny Barratt in Our FrienRAB In The North, IMO.

"Women are rubbish, Geordie. Most people are rubbish, but all women are."

Pure class......Paul Bettany was good, but as usual McDowell was brilliant as the older, bitter, twisted gangster. Nasty, and possibly very underated film but a great performance.

Spoiler *******************

Loved his cameo in heroes as well.

Yeah, that's true. Last time it ...if was on was about 1990. You would have thought a channel like Film 4 would show it.

I wouldn't necessarily say Malcolm is underrated, he is generally very highly regarded as an actor and has done some big big movies. But i'm glad he doesn't opt for over exposing himself
