Making Out

Anyone any idea who we can hassle to repeat this or bring out on DVD?

I keep checking every few months in the vain hope it has snuck out on DVD

Great days ! I was lucky enough to be one the staff videotape editors that worked on series two and three of 'Making Out ' and would love to see it back on the screens. It used to get an audience of eight to nine million....during the week ! I always remember that the end roller had a 'Co -Production' credit for a tv company in New Zealand ! Even i never quite found out what that was all about, but may be one reason for the non re-release. I remember asking the producer and director the great Carol Wilkes about the possibilty of repeats , back in the early nineties, and i'm sure that it was an 'artists' contracts' issue, great contracts eh? It would be good to see the fantastic cast get some repeat fees in the future . For my part, i'd love to be able to go through the episodes and maybe give them a technical 'once over'.. f.o.c.. It was all shot on one inch tape ,offline edited on a , new at the time ,VHS system and 'conformed' on to one inch again. . The edit-masters weren't greatly colour processed like a lot of programmes today, so it probably could be made to look quite contemporary i imagine. (if it neeRAB it). It was BBC London Drama Department working on location around Manchester with local crews and post-produced at BBC Manchester too , back in the eighties and nineties.Great (BBC Manchester ) days indeed !

I take it you are a BOC fan:cool:

I loved the theme tune and will have to look "Vanishing Point" up! I was a kid when this was on so don't remember it in much detail but wouldn't mind seeing it repeated.

Received the dvRAB of Making Out today (quicker than amazon!).
Picture quality is very good, I would guess originallly recorded to VHS then later transferred to dvd. Actually better picture than I remember from watching original VHS videos.
Audio is excellent.
