For school we are reading the novel "Hatchet" and for a project we have to make a model of the camp in "Hatchet". They gave us an idea of how to make his shelter, a recipe actually. They also said we don't have to use that recipe, and it doesn't have to be a close up. So I am doing an aerial view of the area.
I don't want to use the recipe they suggest so I need some ideas!! A little help?
Here is the recipe,
Materials:
. 1 1/4 cups (300 ml) water
. 2 cups (480 ml) flour (not self rising)
. 1/2 cup salt (120 ml)
. Acrylic or poster paints and brushes
. Aluminum foil
.Cookie sheet
.Magic markers
.Polymer sealer
Instructions~
. Using a medium sized bowl, mix water and salt. Add flour and mix well, add more if needed to make a workable dough. Cover and store in a cool place until needed
.Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Using the magic marker, lay out the terrain of Brian's camp. (Brian is the character in the book)
. Work the bread dough into shapes of the major forms you will need.
. Bake in a 200 F oven for 12 hours. You may now transfer your forms to a board or sturdy cardboard. Paint with acrylic paints and add details with magic markers, finally add a coat of polymer sealer to preserve your work. Add any other items wanted to complete your scene.
