Make the ranting stop?

my roommate and i both play wow we both have level 70s but the guy wont shut up. hes always talking about it like i dont know whats going on he skips out on work (yes hes that kind of player) and serriously he makes it sound like the greatest game ever concieved....should i just tell him to shut the heck up or what?
im curently not playing the game but was thinking of rejoining. however hes making me not want too.
 
My friends and I were like this 2 years ago.. we grew out of it. I just pretended like I didn't care about the game and he got bored of telling me about it. I honestly told him "I don't care about that, can we talk about something else" and if he kept talking about it I ignored him.. eventually he grew out of it too...
 
tell him you don't play the game anymore, or just YAWN everytime he starts talking about it- say you have a headache and you are gonna lay down.
 
For the most part tell him how much of an ass he's being (especially skipping work) tell him its just a game and if he won't stop then you will stop playing then he'll have no one to talk to.

Please, Monopoly was the greatest game conceived :)
