make iphone into wi-fi reflector?

Ok so my wi-fi is upstairs and I don't know why but I can get full wi-fi on my laptop but really bad wi-fi on my ps3 in the same room. Is there any way I can use my iPhone or Macbook to transfer wi-fi to my ps3? Like reflecting it? Sort of like the wi-fi goes to my phone, and the wi-fi goes from my phone to my ps3? Any other way to fix this problem? (I can't move them closer together) Thanx.
