For those wondering what the topic creator was talking about, I'm guessing it's the same things that's been brought up on a few other boarRAB. In volume 18, there's a big fight that hadn't ended, but at the beginning of volume 19 it's suddenly 3 years later and something completely unrelated is happening. As it turns out, this wasn't a mistake on Viz's part, but rather a bizarre thing done by the manga-ka himself. Apparently, all the drafts for what would have been covered were lost, but the manga-ka just went "screw it" and continued past what would have been covered by the drafts anyway.
