Major in environmental science or something to do with animals?

ever since i was little. i watched steve irwin on tv and jeff corwin and all those guys. had animal guys come to my birthday parties and bring lizards and snakes had turtles tortoises snakes hedge hogs lizards. you name it. ive caught it or had it . so ever since i was little ive felt some kind of connection with animals. ive wanted to grow up and do something with animals. i want to go out and study them. not sit in a room. i want to go into their habitat and study them and run tests and do everything like that. but ive realized there isnt too much money in that business and i dont know job tites and where to even begin with searching for a career after college. any have anything to say pertaining to job titles of people doing things like that that pay a decent salary. majors careers titles. anything
