Maintenance Costs for Mazda, Toyota, Subaru? ?

I'm in the market for a car, and want to know, which of the the following companies is hardest to maintain? The cars Im looking at in particular are the Mazda6, Toyota Camry/Corolla, and the Subaru (still deciding, but the Legacy?)

I know they are different types of cars, but in general I want to know the costs in the maintenance and reliability. I only want it to last at least 5 years.
 
Toyota is the biggest with the best management to date. I'd go with Toyota or Nissan's Altima.
 
Every mechanic i have ever spoken to concerning longevity and maintenance of cars, almost always say toyota
 
All three companies are solid car builders and have excellent track records for their vehicles, so maintenance costs will be relatively the same really. Then it becomes a matter of what accessories you like, looks, and how it "feels" during a 15 minute "test drive", as a basis.

In this case, with the models you mentioned, I'd let the "feel" of sitting in it and driving decide your choice.
 
You should also consider the new Malibu by Chevy. They are very nice and it would be beneficial to the economy as opposed to getting a foreign car. They even have a Hybrid version which is very nice. The Subaru will be the most expensive out of the 3, followed by the Toyota and then the Mazda.
 
Watch out for subaru, they have the AWD system which adds unnecessary parts that can potentially break.

Toyota is by far the easiest for maintaining - should have next to no problems for 100k miles. But the down side is you pay a big premium for the reliability.

Mazda is sort of a mixed bag. New mazda's tend to have one or two recalls... but other than that, they hold up pretty well.

I'd say Toyota = easiest, Subaru =middle, Mazda = most difficult (but saying that - they are all good cars so it's all relative).
