I pointed out in an Episode Review of the Boondocks that Huey Freeman, the star of the actual comics and the prinicpal lead seen in the first part of the opening, dosen't really seem to be too important to the show. This is espiecally apparent in season two with how few plots are based around him (the irony is I think the only episode that had a central plot specifically about him, The B.E.T hunger Strike episode, never even aired on TV) and now with an episode he wasn't even in.
Then Silverstar came on and pointed out that the title character of Lucy, from Lucy Daughter Of The Devil, has that role, since despite being in every ep, she has little to do with even the focus of every episode. Which got me to thinking:
Just what shows out there have characters that are suppose to be the main leads or stars of the show that just aren't important? That wind up easily being out preformed or out noticed by side characters, and spend a majority of the time not even getting any focus on the show? Because there are some shows that do this quite a bit and I think it's an interesting topic for discussion: Just why do you not care about showing material involving the main lead, and why are other people getting the focus?
