mailbox movies

that'd be good - i am interested in using one of these services but am still a little weary of them, especially with the postal service we get around this area :D It does seem quite expensive if there's nothing you really want to watch left on the list - i wonder if any of these places will introduce a kind of flexi-tarrif (IE you only pay for the weeks/months that you choose to rent, so if i rented in all months except say november then I'd effectively get an extra month free to counterbalance my low renting period)

Has mailbox movies gone bust?

i sent my dvd back on friday and now nothing. The website has been down all week. and the phone number rings out.

Shame really as they were they best of the 7 dvd rental companies i have tried over the past year.

Please see email from mailbox movies they are expreincing problems due to the Royal Mail postal strike, Their website was down due to hardware problems but is working now.

______

We have decided to write to you as there have been some problems over the last few days with Royal Mail deliveries.

You are probably aware of the official 1-day strikes which have occurred in the London area. These have been problematical but we have only experienced short delays as a result of these strikes (1 or 2 days).

However, over the last few days, Royal Mail staff at our local sorting offices, have gone on an unofficial strike. This is causing further delays, and at this time we do not know when this dispute will be over.

Quote (Royal Mail):

"I regret to inform you that Unofficial Industrial Action is currently being taken by staff at Greenford Mail Centre and Southall Collection Hub. Unfortunately, this means that customer collections are being disrupted in the NW, HA and UB1-6 postcode areas..."

What we are doing to try to overcome this, is to dispatch our post to a sorting office far outside of the area. This will avoid our outward post being delayed but we are unable to guarantee our usual level of service until this strike action is over. However, as this action is not official, we do not expect this to last very long.

Could we please ask you to allow a little longer for your disks to arrive as we are being overwhelmed by customer enquiries at this time.

Could we also take this opportunity to apologise for the short outage with our servers earlier this week. This was due to a massive hardware failure on a new server, which was not only totally unexpected, but involved rebuilding our primary server from scratch and so took rather a long time to sort out.

I feel sure that we can look forward to normal service from now on.
On behalf of all of the team at Mailbox Movies, could I thank you very much indeed for your patience.

Best wishes

wow! It's unususal to receive such good customer service - most internet companies wouldn't have even bothered to tell you what was going on, or at the very most sent you a dodgy email about "technical difficulties, back in a few days". It certainly sounRAB as if this is the company to go for - a friend has just tried the Blockbuster service and said it was terrible

I've been with mailboxmovies.com for just under a month now, on the 2 disc option. In that time I've had 8 DVRAB delivered, which isn't quite as good as I thought, but I have taken longer to watch them than I thought.

I think it is a very good company, I did send an email at one point complaining about not receiving my first choice DVRAB (I was receiving 5/6th choice DVRAB) and they immediately emailed me back to apologise and explain that they had just received a new load of DVRAB.

Good choice of DVRAB, new and old, plus some really hard to find DVRAB. I do wish they would stock old WWE dvRAB, but I suppose the whole WWF/WWE copyright is an issue.

I would really recommend going for 2 DVRAB or more, as just 1 DVD will really restrict your choice.

I am also waitng for my new DVRAB to be dispatched, I sent them back Monday night and nothing has been sent yet

God damn Post Office workers are a pain in the ass.

Mailbox Movies are alos doing some good offers, where you can claim a Wine voucher and get a free (1 DVD only) months trial or reduced sub for the first month.

im doing the free trial and one of my dvd's was scratched , i complained and they are now sending me 2 dvd's instead of 1 and a unscratched version of the film i got b4:)
