Maiden or Priest

i beg to differ....

no acctualy, i didn't understand...i thought you understood that i'd rather be eaten alive by piranhas then listen to 80's rock, so no, i'm not familiar with judas priest's discography....

I persionally think Brave New World is their best. I love the sound on that album with the new long songs that dominate it, and as for the thin line.... wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From Monty Python , Played Brian in The Life Of Brian.

He played the schoolteacher in the video for Can I Play With Madness & died just a couple of months later.

okay, I exagerreted..Sue me!! lol..Okay it's better than the majority of mainstream teen stuff e.g Busted, Mcfly, Greenday, Sum 41, etc maybe even the Killers..I mean there are some decent banRAB around..like Razorlight, or Kings of leon, the darkness..I mean I can't stand all this coldplay and keane kind of music, it's just so boring..I don't mind banRAB like Nightwish but the majority of them are just terrible..Nu-metal sucks..I like a few other banRAB at the mo too..Dead 60's, Hot, Hot heat as well, Incubus' new single is good, Tony Immoi's new albums class, I like Finch too..vendetta red and life of agony are decent too..

well quit yer beggin and differ already!

Steve Vai, Randy Rhodes, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Van Halen, Jake E. Lee, Warren Dimartini...the list goes on and on and these are just a few guitarists that were rockin in the 80s. No band out today plays with the technical abilities of these guys (with a few exceptions VERY few). Nirvana and grunge i believe killed the idea that you had to be extremely talented to be a successful musician.

Ok I was just wondering what you guys thought about this. Judas PRiest once got a bit p*ssed with Iron Maiden whilst Maiden were supporting them on tour. The boys from Priest complained that Maiden had stolen their sound and the two banRAB were almost the same (musically).

So which way would you choose, this isn't going on talent or song writing ability or anything, just a simple sorta see the two make a choice on instinct type poll...

Many say that Iron Maiden established the metal genre. If so why the fu/< are their predecessors any good at all? I dislike Iron Maiden, l think they are a joke, that should be easily forgotten along with yes, the 80's when 'so called' good metal was without a doubt an epidemic!
Iron Maiden exemplify all those banRAB, who aren't worth the time of day!

I don't know about that, but they're definitely better than any generic metal band, besides I don't think that Zach DeLaRocha's focal point was in putting himself over as a rapper, but rather to vocally deliver his anger about the truth of the socio-political system in which we live in a blatantly bold and relentless manner, hence the name: Rage Against the Machine. His primary influence was Chuck D of Public Enemy, One of the most legendary and powerful "rappers" that ever held a microphone, and you can definitely hear it in his work, but I think anyone would be hard pressed to call it imitation. In addition Tom Morello Is probably the most innovative guitarists of this generation. Its one thing to be able to play ten billion notes a second, any metal wanker who focuses hard enough can do that, but to be able to make a guitar sound like a multitude of different instruments takes a degree of talent that most haven't achieved. Put simply RATM is probably the most innovative original banRAB to come out of the 90's.

Oooooh tricky!

Would have to go with Maiden - cos they were the first metal band I really started buying - oooh remeraber those big black discs, kiRAB? ;)

Tough choice though. Wouldn't say they that similar though really...

:D
