Magyk by Annie Sage - Epigraph? (help finding something to quote, must fit topic)?

I'll make this as short as I can.

What I need to do, is come up with something that I can quote and use as an epigraph for the book: "Magyk" (again, by A. Sage). It's meant to be something that you read before the book (poem, quote from other literary work, etc.) that gives insight into what happens (and can be refered to as you read through the book.

I must use a quotation of something, but if you write your own then give me a name to quote by (make it random for all I care). Not too long, but it needs to fit with the book well.

Here's what it needs to match the book:
- something about Darkness or evil coming (taking place of, or eliminating good)
- mention of children as good people
- something about there being hope
- if you have read the book, you should be able to tell what kind of thing would work

Here is an example I found, it's good, but doesn't quite seem to fit (good length, similar things to this would be appreciated):

Oh, the torment bred in the race,
the grinding scream of death
and the stroke that hits the vein,
the hemorrhage none can staunch, the grief,
the curse no man can bear.

But there is a cure in the house,
and not outside it, no,
not from others but from them,
their bloody strife. We sing to you,
dark gods beneath the earth.

Now hear, you blissful powers underground –
answer the call, send help,
Bless the children, give them triumph now.
- Aeschylus, The Libation Bearers

I really need some ideas! We got this assignment tonight and I'm having a brain-freeze (+ tired). Thank you to anyone who can help.
