Evening all.
Me and the o/h went to see Magicians tonight.
If you like Peep Show you'll like this. Definitely worth a watch. Some very very funny bits in it.
And the compere of the magic show is excellent!

Saw the film earlier and was a bit dissapointed, thought it was nowhere near as good as peep show is but still had some flashes of brilliance.

My main problem was that they were playing enemies which meant there wasn't enough screen time between the two of them.

Peter Capaldi as the Head Magician and Jessica Stevenson as the love interest were fantastic, really funny performances.

I went & saw this earlier today.I thought it was an alrite movie with some funny scenes.I thought the scene when Robert Webb is in bed with the girl & he is pretending to contact her dad was funny & also when the Stooge knocked himself out on the stage.

It probably would have been better if they hadn't been doing so much in a year - the sketch show, live tour, fourth series of Peep Show, the Mac aRAB. The film seems a bit rushed.

That sounRAB like the trademark of most British films. Especially the comedy films starring comedy performers who are well known on TV.
Brit films quite often feel rushed to me. Plus many of them don't exactly feel 'cinematic' and may as well have been made just for television.

Magicians was fairly enjoyable. There were some great lines in the movie, and the story was simple and effective, though I do feel it could and should have been better.

There was no real one big set piece or stand out scene, it felt quite happy to be sailing along at a quite swift pace, just being amusing, which was fine with me. I don't think its possible for Mitchell and Webb to not be funny, and every line they have they know how to get the best possible comic timing I feel.

Jessica Stevenson who is always brilliant, again excelled, and the dance routine was one of my favourites.

I wasn't expecting too much from it, and I don't think it will be a movie I will rewatch more than maybe once, but it was still an enjoyable movie, and hopefully the two leaRAB will carry on working with each other for a long time to come.

Keira on Thursday, bring it on.
