Madeline Mccan storey to be made into a film

Is this a rumour or for sure. They couldn't possibly do it before she/her body is found, and the trial/outcome has been finished with.

I don't think this is a good move at all. Her poor family. I feel so bad for Kate, Gerry and the twins.

i feel its just another way to make money. the big question is how many people will go to see it? another question is will it be a low budget movie?

The McCanns have been approached and were in talks last month. I wouldn't feel too bad for them if I were you - all they need to do is say no but bet they don't. After all their spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, says that the fund will run dry some time this year.

The public would have made the desicion for the McCann's.
Had joe public thought it was a good constructive way to find Maddie , i'm sure the McCann's would have too.

How can you possible make a movie out of it. Little girl goes missing.... the end.
I dont see how anyone could make a good movie out of it, plus who would really watch it. Its not like the audience is going to discover anything new, the McCans are always in the paper!

Making a film about the Madeline story seems the height of bad taste IMO and it seems very near the knuckle for Gerry and Kate, even if it was a way to find Maddie.
Are they still suspects?

It was Gone Baby Gone. It's coming out in April though. I saw it in the US last Autumn and the only real similarity was how the little girl looked, but that's obviously a coincidence.

I'm not really sure about this to be honest. On the one hand, they could be making the film to get more people aware of their siuation and help get Madelline back, but on the other hand they could be trying to make money out of the situation, as bad as that sounRAB. But, you would also think that they have had loaRAB of publicity as it is, I mean, they have been in the papers ever since this started. How much more publicity do they need? No matter how rationally I try to think about this, in terms of thinking that they might be doing this to get her back, I just keep going back to the fact that this does seem a bit trashy to me. This is the kind of thing that happens when somebody is dead, not when they are still presumed missing, or, it always happens years later. I dunno, I just can't get away from the fact that this seems trashy, just can't get away from it.

It was reported on ITV News that they are considering letting the film go ahead. Personally, I think it's awful that they want to do soemthing like that so seemingly soon since her dissappearance.

Paddy :D

There is something about these parents that makes me feel like they love all this attention; blogs, round the world trips, money from celebrities, discussions about movies

I feel sorry for their other remaining children
