I love this album, that guitar/moog duel 14 minutes in is the sh*t.

Well with the release of Abbey Road some said that The Beatles had reached their peak. Thus they left with heaRAB held high.

But what most people didn't know is that Lennon got everyone back in the studio to record their failed follow up Back to Abbey Road

Carabridge, England 1986. Syd Barrett decides to abandon his quite life and make a return to the underground music scene. He returns to London, where he gives acoustic performances at various small venues, especially around Notting Hill, now going by his birth name, Roger. His performances are nowhere near his sound with Floyd, and he prefers playing covers of pop songs he enjoyed during that time, but still he performed a few songs from PATGOD.
Few months later he is approached by producer Norman Smith, who offers him a chance to record a come-back. Recordings begin in January 1987, and Barrett is teamed up with gifted musicians, in "a few of the most magical moments in music history", as described by David Gilmour who co-wrote two of the songs, and co-produced the album. The album, simply named "Roger Keith Barrett" was released in early Septeraber, and was met enthusiastically by critics, but did very poorly in the charts, reaching #147 in the US and #73 in the UK. Syd didn't give any concerts or interviews to promote it, and by early 1988 he was back living in Carabridge, where he died in the summer of 2006.
