Maddie Blaustein, 4Kids VA for Meowth, dies at 48

Not that I know of. Most of 4KiRAB actors are pretty young, usually between twenty and fifty.

I was always under the impression that Meowth was voiced by a guy.

Dr. K on Cubix, Sister Jill in the live-action Cutie Honey movie, Senora Siniestra on El Tigre, Dr. Clash on F-Zero GP Legend, the Burnt Meatballs and Oslo in Fighting Foodons, Overkill in G.I. Joe Sigma Six, Chef Kawasaki and Waddle-Doo on Kirby, Dr. Kureha on One Piece (which led to an in-joke about her voicing two "Dr. Ks"), Jillias on Slayers, Migeira in Samurai Deeper Kyo, Tetsu Asakura in Gokusen, Wally Tusket and his whole family, Comrad Turbinski, and Lord Flash on Ultimate Muscle, quite a few characters in Valkyrie Profile, Solomon Muto on Yu-Gi-Oh, Sartorius on Yu-Gi-Oh GX, Rex Goodwin in Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's, Helga and Dr. Drake in Dinosaur King, and Corinna in Viva Pinata. She also voiced some minor Sonic characters.

Her Pokemon roles included Meowth, Corphish, Torkoal, Farfetch'd, Lt. Surge, and a LOT more.

She also wrote and drew for numerous comic books. Truly a talented individual that the world now lacks.

No...she was the 4KiRAB VA for Meowth starting about 1/3rd of the way through Kanto (there was another VA who did the first 30 episodes) all the way to the end of Advanced Battle (where she was then replaced by the current VA).

The reason Meowth sounded like a guy was because, well...Maddie was a guy, and then became a girl.

For some reason since nothing good on at 11'o clock for me, I decided to watch Kirby and saw that sign at the end of the episodes, I thought that they were doing that for all episodes of everything that aired though just not Kirby one, but it did make sense.

That's actually completely irrelevent here, but that story was extremely depressing. She was in a rather abusive living situation and eventually killed by her own father...
