Mad Men.

I did not think this week's episode had the power and intensity of last week. The spoken diary did not work that well and there was too much whining Betty.

I find him the most odious character of the cast. Everything about him is creepy. The way he belittled his wife in front of Ken was sickening. Can't imagine a wife putting up with that sort of behaviour today.

As for Joan, she is one queen bitch, and evil with it. Why would blokes want anything to do with her? I'd rather steer well clear.

Good point ~ I hadn't thought of that! Makes a bit of a mockery of her 'I am very discreet' line. And it would make Roger even less intuitive than I gave him credit for!

I liked the reference to Vietnam, as if it wasn't particularly important a common thought at that time, yet was to become so significant.

I always think it sad to see photos of the Vietnam memorial wall, where kiRAB who lost their fathers make "rubbings" of the names.

Ah my mistake, I was talking about Peggy, not Betty.:o

And I think being the perfect trophy wife qualifies as a talent. It takes real work and effort to maintain appearances.

Thanks, I wondered why they went after Mad Man.

I expect a lot of US shows to disappear from C4, E4, Five and other freeview channels then to fill the slots in this new channel. That's a shame.

Would Betty ask Don to take her back? I don't know ...

Her naivety plumbed new depths last night as she decided to take Henry's advice about not wanting to owe Don anything. Of course Henry would say that, Betty! All the better for him to control you with if you are now reliant on him ...

I predict that she will end up in a more restricted place with Henry than she was with Don ... She is, of course, conniving enough to suggest blackmailing Don into taking her back - but how bad would things get before she was prepared to admit she'd chosen the wrong guy (again)? That's a huge loss of face for her to own up to ...

I can't wait!!! Although i don't know what i'll do when its finished, probably have to start watching season1 again I Love Mad Men! :)

I thought she was bening checked out and given the pill, but I could be wrong. If she is pregnant it would be pretty distressing for her watching all that behaviour knowing that it had probably completely screwed her life up.

I always thought that Peggy's sister took in her baby and maybe told people it was hers, but then i didn't spot that she was pregnant in the flashbacks. Also in the first or second episode of the second series when Peggy visits her Mum and Sister, she looks in on the children before leaving, looking coldly at the baby in the cot, why should she do that it if the baby is not hers ?

Don had 3 women flirting with him in one episode! It's ridiculous! :)

That Lucky Strike guy is detestable isn't he? I actually felt sorry for Roger after that.

The guy who plays Freddie deserves a mention I think. He is literally channelling the 60s. It's like they writers went back in time and brought an actor back with them.
