Mad Men.

I haven't seen anything that hasn't been broadcast in Britain, but I have a little bet with myself that the finale of this season or the next will see Betts coming back to Don - but will he want her back ????
 
Simply - one of the best shows of all time ever written. This is a masterpiece. Makes me want to be there and work in a 1960's ad office! Is this true about BBC dropping Series 4?
 
It brings back memories for me as I was in advertising in my teens at the time working for a North American company in the West End. We moved to a new office at that time, all new imported fixtures and modern polished wood fittings, with beautiful contoured steel desks, much like what we see.
 
I think TiffanyThorne was probably referring to the quote by Jonn Hamm (Don Draper!) when he was interviewed on the red carpet by Amazon.com :)

Mad Men does seem to be set in such a different world depite almost - I was born in '62! - being in my life time, so I kinda know what he means. ("The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." and all that!)
 
The good thing about Peggy is that she's learning to stand up for herself and demand her fair share. So far it's not at anyone else's expense.

I think Don will return to New York renewed, having taken the time for introspection and resolving some inner issues. But he took his eye off the ball at work though. My feeling is that the 3rd series will focus on power play at the agency and possibly wrestling back control. I hope the merger doesn't take place as we'll have Duck taking command, but I can see there are too many storylines there for them to resist doing that.

Betty has been taking it out on Sally a lot which has been painful to watch, but thankfully she softened a bit at the end with her and spoke to her more truthfully about her situation. She's such a sweet little girl; I hope Betty's attitude with her warms further.
 
Shame on you. You know better than to go to other forums for info. 99% of the time you will run across spoilers. That's a given.

So, are you still planning to watch the finale or has it been ruined for you?
 
Brilliant Mad Men tonight! One of the best of the series so far.

Loved the Don/Pete/Bert vs Roger and Pete laying down the law to Roger in his office. Fantastic scene! Nice to see Betty back, wondered where she'd disappeared to! We've hardly seen her at all this season and we're only 5 episodes in. She's still a bitch! Lol.

Sally Draper storyline just got more darker and i wonder where it's now heading as we saw the door shut behind her in the psychiatrist's office.

I have to say watching this tonight i felt a tinge of sadness knowing that this will be the last time i'll see Mad Men on BBC4. So not fair!
 
In total agreement with all positive comments, but no-one's mentioned my fave bits of the series.

The jaw dropping moment when you realise Pete Campbell intended for his wife to shag her ex so he could get in The New Yorker.:eek:

When Sterling hits on Betty, Draper blames her but when he realises it was Stirling gets him wrecked and sweaty so he vomits in front of the Nixon team, Stirling never suspects, but Draper never apologises to poor Betty. Both:D and :mad:
 
It will be the airline returning his suitcase they lost on the way out. If you remember there was a scene by the pool when they first arrived discussing where Don could find a tailor to replace his missing clothes.
 
I'm not convinced that she's *that* exceptional[1] for her presumed age for that era. I have samples of my grandmother's writing from when she was 7 - it has style and accuracy that you wouldn't find in teens today, It's just that kiRAB then were taught different things in different ways. Don't forget that children from that era read a great deal more than children do, today.

[1]Although some of the worRAB in the passage she read were "long" worRAB, she had obviously knew how to "spell them out" - even though she didn't know their meaning.
 
This show never ceases to surprise. Just as i thought this episode was going to be unusually comedic, it goes and sideswipes you by reviving the Peggy Pete backstory, and you realise that that relationship has years and years to run... The Alison story was great, all the better forhaving built up gradually over several episodes. The thought that goes into these storylines is truly incredible.

And what a great piece of music to end on - a nice bit or score rather than a song from the time.

Damn I love this show :)
 
PETE! :D Yay.... I think of all the MM cast I'm missing him the most, so this 'Money' thing might tide me over a bit until... whenever *sniff*... we get MM back here in the UK... *sob*

If a trailer is out, it must be quite soon? Maybe in a week or so?
 
Season finale was only screened in the States this past Sunday, so there's no way they're alluding to anything in the finale if it's last month's magazine.
