Mad Men.

Funny you should mention that as I had wondered exactly this point a while ago, as her scenes are removed from all the office, thereby group, action.

I posted this clip recently from the Golden Globe awarRAB earlier this year, when MM won best tv show gong. Possibly I'm over-analysing, but at the time I felt JJ seemed a little apart from the rest of the group - who were larking about with each other - until Jon Hamm pulls her closer (at around 2.09).

I had to watch through my fingers ~ we had a red setter when I was little and I still miss him now

Hell yeah! :o HanRAB up who doesn't want the 'Don Draper Treatment' ;) (even if he is the world's biggest hypocrite for whoring it up all afternoon then making his wife feel cheap for wearing a bikini! Any bets on how long till Betty starts an affair out of lonliness / revenge?)

Another amazing episode in which everything and nothing happened. Loved the 'two sides to every person' theme (who knew Peggy had it in her to be a 'Marilyn'?) , and that closing shot of two Don's in the bathroom mirror was superb (especially as he sort of is two different people)

The attention to detail is superb and I love all those fashions with the fantastic flared dresses and tiny waists.

It's a must-watch in this house.

Again, another great episode. Having missed the first season I was intrigued by how Don, er became Don, if you see what I mean!

His relationship with "Don's " widow was beautifully done & it left me really feeling for Don - I really want him to make a go of things...I wonder if he will after having his epiphany in the ocean?!

& poor Joan! Ok, so I fancy her like rotten, but really - her fiance is a git!

Im getting REALLY fed up - whats going on with the schedule for Mad Men on BBC HD??

Since the winter olymipics - the shows have been thrown out of any sort of order -

Ive got it set on series link - and last watched ep 5 - waiting for ep 6 - olympics came - nothing (even though last week BBC were showing ep 6 -

This week my HD box taped ep 4 and 5 - both of which id seen and the next shedules recording for ep 6 is next tuesday - meanwhile ep 7 is tonight on BBC 4 - this is getting silly and we on HD are falling behind - sort it out BBC HD!!

Just extrapolating. Season 2 started airing on AMC in July 08, and you guys are just finishing it up now in 09. So an August 09 airdate pushes your airdates even later.

Well, the actress who plays her also has a recurring role in a series that will be hitting your shores some time this year. The series is LIFE starring Damian Lewis (excellent series btw). Check it out when it comes on. My boyfriend is totally in love with Christina Hendricks aka Joan. :D

I'm interested in the way Pete will develop too. It's great there will be at least one more series, as I love the slow character development and feel Pete is one of the better ones. So much going on with him underneath his brittle exterior. I fear his marriage is in for a very rocky time.

Yep, Betty doesn't captivate him the way Midge or Rachel could ~ there's no intellectual spark, and she's pretty much a pushover (although I've got a feeling that she's not going to take the news of his affair with Bobbie lightly ~ wiping down the car upholstery could be the least of his penance :D)

That was the Nasville Teens performing and as far as I'm aware it was a 1964 hit but was probably chosen to emphasise the fact that the new SCDP company was too reliant on the business from their Tobacco account they took with them from StirlingCooper.

Raven.

Wow .... fantastic episode tonight

Such a lot was clarified ... great great great

Peggy calling him Don tonight was a huge leap forward for her ...

This really is the best series on TV at the moment ...

I've really tried to like Mad Men - it's got everything I like about TV - great writing, intelligent scripts, wonderful casting (Elisabeth Moss, love you) and fantastic production values - but, for some reason I just can't get into it. Maybe because it is so different to anything else on TV these days.

In the USA that would still be legal. Here you'd have to make up a covering excuse, but in ad agencies - I've worked in 5 of them - people get hired and fired all the time, and it's about personal chemistry. Usually, if a client doesn't like you, you'd be removed to other accounts. Clients wouldn't bump into you as where they are allowed to go is strictly controlled, agencies are designed so that clients are funnelled into meeting rooms without ever having a chance to wander around.

As for the BBC dropping Mad Men, that is NOT on the carRAB. It's just a combo of stupid threat and a mischievous press rumour. The BBC has just spent ONE BILLION POUNRAB of our licence payers' money refurbishing one building in London alone; they just sent hundreRAB of staff on a course on how to use social networking sites like Facebook; and they've increased the world cup budget by

Just caught up on Sunday's episode - fantastic! I'm on the side of those who think that Don pulled out of joining the new company because he disliked the way they were trying to pressurise him by using his wife (rather than just trying to stop his wife from working). However, it's clear that his absolute belief is that the only job Betty should be doing is being a mother.

I love the way this episode showed how difficult it must have been to have lived during this time and in this society and how frustating it must have been to not be able to express your feelings. (Demonstrated in the way Pete exploded into the fight and the way Betty started taking pot shots at the pigeons!)

The scene where Sterling asks Don if he wants a lift to the station while there is a fight going on behind them made me smile!
