Which one?
Apple MacBook Pro 13.3" Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz Laptop $1200
Sony VAIO 15.5" Intel Core i5 460M Laptop $850
Ok, so Mac is $350 more and plus if I want to run windows 7 on it, it will cost me about 100$ for student copy. I'm wondering, is it worth it to pay that extra money for the Mac? By the way, I need it for university (Computer Engineering), probably won't be changing for the next 4 years.
I have researched already but I want to hear what other people have to say, so give good reason(s) for your choice please. Not just "Mac > PC". I want to know which is better in terms of both aesthetics and performance.
I have experience with 2 Toshiba Satellites already. I really didn't like both; they heat up too much, everything just starts to lag, etc.

I really won't be playing any games on it, maybe some online java ones. And hard drive isn't a problem, i have an external 500gb already.
