I recently bought a new macbook pro, one of the 15" ones with a decent HD capable graphics card. When I want to watch videos I use my larger TV. I have the display port to VGA adapter and connect the mac to my TV via VGA.
When I'm just using the my TV as a secondary display and I'm interacting with the computer I have no issues, I can use my TV without any issues. However, when I stop having any contact with the computer and watch a full screen video (I've only tested this with online flash videos - iPlayer, Megavideo ect.) my TV will 'loose' signal for about 2 seconds and then regain it by itself. This doesn't seem to be periodic, it happens randomly varying between 1-2 mins and up to 30-40 mins between tempory loss of signal.
I know its not the mac falling asleep as the key board stays lit, and there is still audio.
Is it a Mac os setting I haven't found, or is it a TV setting? ...or something else. If you've any ideas, no matter how trivial as I am a complete novice with Mac, please suggest.
Thanks very much.
