I have the first aluminum macbook and i have had it for about a year now. Recently i noticed the bluetooth icon in my menu bar has disappeared. I can no longer access the system preferences for bluetooth and system profiler shows no bluetooth hardware.
I have already tried
-restarting
-restarting while holding cmd+option+r+p
-reparing disk permissions
-powering down and holding power button with batter and power plug out
-powering down and holding button with battery in
what else could i do to fix this? i do not wish to go all of the way to an apple store just to fix this and it is getting aggravating. i know there must be something wrong that can be fixed. any ideas?

also, there is no bluetooth application... it is the actual bluetooth hardware. there are several applications that use bluetooth, that can not be deleted. and i have not "trashed" any of my system software
