M50 windshield

Can anyone recommend a windshield for M50. The one that Suzuki offers seems a little short, has anyone tried it at highway speeds? Is it worth the $350? Does anyone have any pictures of the bike with after market windshield?

Thanks.

I ponied up for the Suzuki model after I came home from Daytona last year and actually saw it on an M50. I was all set to go for a Memphis Shades model, but when I saw the Suzuki one, it just looked right, like it was designed for the bike. Does it completely shield you from wind buffet? No. Does it cut down on it significantly? Yes. And does it look cooler than all the other ones out there. (IMHO) yes.

I guess it comes down to price vs looks vs function. I thought the Suzuki one was a good balance of the three, and it was a breeze to install, at that.

Good luck!

So anything yet on the M50 windshield? I just got a 08 M50 a couple of months ago and haven't even seen one with a windshield or backrest. Any pics of info would be great to hear about.

I've put a number of the mods you've mentioned on my '07 M50 Limited Edition. I've attached thumbnails showing the OEM windshield, a set of Memphis Fats clear lowers, Jardine Universal tilt passenger's backrest, Jardine rack, Grasshopper driver's backrest, Lindby highway bars, and Saddleman Cruis'n Slant Bags - Jumbo.

Regarding the utility of the OEM windshield, my experience is similar to what was related in an earlier posting. I really like the look of the windshield on the bike and it does a great job stopping the wind from hitting you in the chest, but does nothing for your helmet. To remedy the head buffeting I put on the set of lowers and that solved the problem. With the mounting brackets they cost less than $100 and are well worth it if you are having any helmet buffeting issues. They come in eight different colors, I think.

Looking good, been looking at getting a passenger backrest, engine guards, and cargo rack myself, now I may even decide to get that windshield too. Quick question though, does it really keep the wind off? I ask cause being tall (6'6 here) I see alot of windshields thats just throw the wind right up under my helmet lol. Luckily though the M50's seat sits a good bit lower than alot of other bikes I'm checked out.

I fitted a MRA brand handlebar mounted screen to my 2007 M50. Made in Germany, quite good quality. Played around with the height for a while until I found the best, which incidently was lower down rather than higher up. I have ridden 3000 with the screen now and very happy. It takes just enough wind off to make riding around 120-140kph quite comfortable.

Hi, I am new to this forum. After reading all the advice on windshields here, I am probably going to go with the memphis shades "pop top", I am just wondering what size headlight cutout I would need.
Thanks for all the great advice!
