M50 Seat

The rear seat looks a little weird after I put everything back together. Does this look normal? Or is the black strap part supposed to be the other way around?

There's a bigger gap than normal once it is screwed in. Also, the rubber pieces that normally touch the paint have no contact with it at all now...

It just looks funny now.. are you sure it's ok?

It's hard to tell by the pic. It might be flipped over and the strap turned inside out. If so, you can flip it over and turn the strap inside out again to make it right. But the tongue of it is pointing in the right direction.

Strap is definitely not inside out. Only other option is that the piece needs to be turned around. Is it normal for the rubber pieces under the seat to not be touching the bike at all?

Yes, you've got it right. Here are two pix of my C50 seat. Notice on the img_0002.jpg that there's an inclined support under the seat at the front end that comes in contact with the metal piece that is bolted on the fender.

If you turn the metal piece, the extended part would go under the rider seat and there wouldn't be any support for the passenger seat. I'm not even sure if one could bolt the metal piece pointing forward end.

Looks like you may not be getting the rear retainer flange (that's what I call the ridged metal piece that bolts to the fender) into the corresponding slot on the bottom of the rear seat (the part with the scratches). The metal piece should be inside that slot, not on the outside where it can scratch it. That would keep the rubber from touching the fender.

That's exactly what it was... I normally lay everything out in the same way it was put together before. For some reason I put the flange under the rear seat, inside of under and inside.

I knew something was up, it just didn't look right.
