m50 battery installation problem

hey all - i used to own an 02 honda cbr f4i and in the winter i would completely remove the battery from the bike and put it on a trickle charger... i did the same to my 08 boulevard m50 - however, as today is a warmer day in the winter i decided to pop the sucker back in and go for a ride.

problem - the original bolts taken off the battery that holds the terminals down are now TOO SMALL for the battery itself and doesnt even seem to thread. i looked at the battery itself and it doesnt even look like it has threads for the bolts. remind you its the stock battery and bolts. im really confused because this seems like a no brainer -

has anyone else encountered this?
 
That is probably because the posts are NOT threaded. Look around on the floor for the nuts that fell off.......or visit a battery shop for some new ones !! :shock:

P.S. Unless the bike is stored where the temp. will be below -20F for a long period of time, there is absolutely no reason to remove the battery from the bike.....if there is power for the battery tender nearby.
