M. Night Shyamalan's 'The Happening'

After getting the overall gist of the film from the script that has been seen online, I honestly don't think it will be that good, in my personal opinion it just sounRAB so ridiculous in my eyes.

I honestly don't think i'll be going to see this at the cinema.

The only of Shayamalan's productions I've enjoyed were The Sixth Sense and Signs. Most others were appalling to the brink of embarrassment. But, meh, the trailer looks suitably interesting. I'll probably give it a go.

How many more movies will it take before people realise this numpty has no talent or originality whatsoever.

He steals good, interesting stories and turns them into streched-out, mind numbingly dull movies; and then tries to come across as some sort of genius.

I'd agree with you here, only I'd remove Signs. Sixth Sense aside, which I'm sure has plot holes, the rest of Shayamalan's films have been riddled with ridiculous plotholes and sloppy writing. He was a one hit wonder unfortunately

I really, really liked the Village and both Signs and Sixth Sense were both very good. Unbreakable was OK, and Lady in the Water was alright but just needed something a little extra - seemed like it was going somewhere but didn't quite get there and the self-referential story about a story thing has been done better before.

Overall, I've enjoyed his films and so I'll look forward to this one.

The Sixth Sense is his only decent movie to date.

Signs was absolutely terrible, lets envade a world mostly containing water when water kills us! Genius.

I always look forward to his films, they are quite special in their own way. However, I made the mistake of buying The Village on DVD because I enjoyed it at the cinema - I have only managed 5 minutes on 2 attempts to watch it again, it's not something to watch repeatedly.

I know that 'Lady in the Water' was special to him and his family, but it shouldn't have been made, or it should have been altered for the big screen. For a film with such a boring storyline, they could have at least added in a last minute twist. Left us with an overlong, random fairytale that didn't deserve to be a film.

Yep. Plot holes like chasms, but I still enjoyed the menacing pace to it. It's strange really. I hate Mel Gibson, I hate Shayamalan and yet the combined efforts of the two produced a decent film, IMO.

Finally saw this last night.

I truly believe its one of the worst films ever made - stilted performances, bizarre characterisation, laught out loud moments of 'terror' - me and the missus thought it was possibly an attempt at a spoof of 50's B-movies (possibly a tribute to Ed Wood).

Nope I enjoyed it. But we may be the only two!

I ADORED Lady in the Water. Don't know why everyone was so disappointed in it.

I think poor M Night Shamalan shot himself in the foot with The Sixth Sense in a lot of ways. He can't make a movie now without a lot of people expecting the same kind of shock twist ending then feeling "let down" when it doesnt happen.
