Greetings
I am new,
A little more than a year ago I had some dental work and a stubborn tooth was removed.
The tooth area seems complety healed?
I noticed on and off pain just below my chin, but after a while it went away and then returned from time to time.
Feeling the lymph node now reveals it is swollen and extremely sensitive.
If I so much as touch it a week or more of unrelenting pain is experienced. This pain is felt mostly in the area of the lymph node but touching it causes the pain to radiate into my ear and to the one side of my face.
Only this one lymph node is effected
I saw my doctor, GP the other day, and he said it was most likely an infection and put me on a five day course of antibiotics "amoclan bid'
Could this be a bacterial infection as this has gone on for more than a year now, or could it be a virus infection, or god help me cancer.
I am going to see a general surgeon for a biopsy, but is a general surgeon the medical specialist I should consult with this now unbearable problem??
Would surgical removal of my tormenter solve the problem?
Please help
Grateful
