Hi, this is my first rant of many to come.
I own a store and had an appartment in the same building.
I wanted to move out as I'd be living together with my boyfriend (more on him later in another subforum if I remember to). My landlord wasn't happy with me leaving as that would mean less money for him for a while and wanted to force me to keep on paying the rent to the end of the contract instead of looking for someone else to take over my appartment.
I went ahead and found a friend willing to take over my appartment, he agreed to meet him and let him take over.
The day he and his mother came to sign the contract I was absent, so he went ahead and told them the reason this appartment became available was because he had decided to kick me out as I was a slob.

MR-I-don't-want-you-to-go now suddenly is the high and mighty lord who decided I wasn't good enough for his crappy tiny apartment?
Here's a hint to all of you, if someone is giving you 1500$ or so/month without having to do anything for it, do NOT go lying and badmouthing that person in a way he/she can find out about it.
Result, the guy taking over my appartment will probably be moving out in a mere 4 months when my contract runs out, and I'm going to look for a new location for my store. That lying SOB can find another sucker to leech money from.
