Lupin III vs. Detective Conan

Has anyone checked out this new Lupin III TV special? It came out yesterday and its been rattling my brain ever since I heard the news. (By that I mean the possibilities for abridging as well, but I digress.) I haven't looked up what its about since its just been released but I was just wondering if anyone else had the chance to check out this epic battle between legendary Thief and legendary Detective. If enough info and comments come along, maybe a forum mod could turn this into a Talkback.
 
I saw it yesterday, it was really good a lot homages to both series like Fujiko double crossing Lupin in the middle theft scene. Conan uses tries to use tranquilzer watch on Kogoro, but it hits

, and of course both shows famous themes musics plays through the entire speical.
 
Yes... I imagine you're not the only one thinking of the possibilites for fanworks based on this special. Maybe even a fandub is in order. Of course there's only 1 guy who can dawn the jacket if you know what I mean.

I've been stoked about this special ever since I read about it. So I'm hoping to see it soon and thoroughly enjoy it.

I started watching and it's pretty interesting so far. I do like the inclusion of the shows themes here and there. Very nice. And woah when did Mori learn how to fight like that?
 
mori was captain of his judo club remeraber...he always knew how to fight that way. Heck the funi dub had a great episode focusing on that plot in itself.
I have to say it was a good way to homage both classic shows. Everything was top notch, while the plot felt contrived (ran meets an exact duplicate of herself) the payoff didn't happen till about after the first hour and that was when it all wrapped up nicely.

This film neeRAB to be dubbed badly I would love to hear this dubbed. All in all, it was exactly what I expected...and I love fujiko fan service LOL

I thought this was a 'vs.' thread. ^^;

Never even heard about this until now. Can't get over how convenient an acquisition this must be for Funimation.

EDIT: Oh wait, Lupin's not Funi is it? I always think it is...
 
technically it can be...considering funi is snatching up geneon titles and they have distributed the lupin movies
It would be perfect for funimation to release this movie. I know for sure I would buy a dvd like this. It wasn't the most amazing movie IMHO but it was a good movie and it showcased my favorite anime characters: lupin and shinichi kudo.

It was weird I had no idea initially it aired last night but I began to watch old tapes of cased closed and lupin the third just because. I'm glad I did it was a good setup to a good movie. I loved the way there was good teamwork in the movie
