Lupe Fiasco

What real issues did tupac and biggie rap about? lol...

I'm all for rap with substance (aesop rock, sage francis, el-p, slug, murs, scroobius pip etc) but tupac and biggie, if anything, were the starters of this so-called "retard rap". More tupac than big, but both had their hanRAB in it.

Life goes on - loosing frienRAB in the ghetto due to the negativities
Dear mama - dedication to single mothers
Keep ya head up - a couple things, foremost to single mothers, and a general question the leader attitude
only god can judge me - do not let others limit you, only person that can limi you is yourself
letter to my unborn - a wakeup call to fathers in the ghetto
changes - obvious

not saying he didn't have a lot of retarded rap, but he deffinetly had raps of some substance.

I agree. He's refreshing in a genre that I think has grown stale, repetitive, and shallow. I normally don't even listen to rap but I've loved Lupe Fiasco since I heard him on Touch The Sky with Kanye West. I mean he rapped about Lupin III! That's fucking sweet.
