Lumps in leg???

I have a couple lumps that sorta poke out sometimes mainly when I walk alot. They are usually a little sore if you press on them. One comes out on the right side of my leg around the front in the middle and the other one is lower on the right more towards the ankle. The left leg will also get them sometimes. When I walk for an extended amount of time or when I walk really fast I get really bad leg pain around the lower part of my legs, they become numb and throb/ache really bad until I sit down and rest then the pain goes away. This has been going on for approx 6-7 yrs now but has just gotten gradually worse to the point where I can usually only walk for 10-15 mins before I have to quit. Once this happens then I always notice the lump poking out but it will usually go back down after awhile. I also notice that my legs usually feel sort of hot after walking. I've done alot of walking today and have had no leg pain but have this lump that's been poking out all day and hasn't went down yet. Another strange symptom i've recently noticed that I haven't experienced before is nerves that twitch in my legs sometimes, thighs, thumb...i'm not sure why? Has anyone ever had this leg lump problem or know what it might be? I plan to go get some tests done soon. I'm only 23 so it's hard for me to believe that I might have PAD (peripheal artery disease) but I just don't know. When I first started expericing the leg pain when I was around 16-17 yrs old I wasn't overweight and for the most part healthy although I was smoking ciggarettess up until I was about 21. Since then I've had a child and am now somewhat overweight and have smoked ciggarettes on & off...I'm wondering if this has anything to do w/the pain over the years? A doctor told me a few months ago that it's possible I could have PAD and that walking alot would help improve the condition but everything I have read online about PAD never mentions anything about lumps in the legs so I'm confused? Please help!
