lump in throat coughing and vomiting

has anyone had the lump in throat and coughing so much that you vomit up undigested food. this could happen anywhere from 20 mins. up to 3 or 4 hours after eating. Also when i cough or sneeze my neck down to my back get a terrible shooting pain (kind of like hitting your funny bone.)

i have had this problem for over 3 years now. I've had the swallow test as well as many other procedures to figure out what is causing this. I'm at a crossroaRAB because i don't like going out to eat in public because this could happen. It also happens when i go out in cold air.

SounRAB like LPR BUT with it happening when you go out in the cold, it also could be allergies. I have GERD and I also struggle in chronic sinusitis/rhinitis. I do have some mucus when I eat and it will cause a little discomfort but nothing like you have. The post nasal drip is the only symptom that I have that is common to LPR (silent reflux). I sometimes worry that I might have LPR but my one symptom is not constant and is also accompanied by nasal congestion and runny nose. It is also greatly reduced ny allergy medicines.

Have you tried taking some kind of mucus reducer such as Mucinex and an antihistamines like Benadryl. If you try these and notice a drastic reduction in symptoms, it would be a good sign that you problem is allergy related. If you see no improvement, it would lean towarRAB a GERD and/or LPR diagnosis.
