I've been suffering with a mystery lump above my belly button (about an inch above it, directly in line with the 'six pac' muscles that sit above the belly button). It's about the size of a walnut and doesn't stray outside of the six pac muscle that sits underneath.
The injury happened after a work out (abdominal crunches), I felt two sharp pains under my lower right side ribs - 2 inches to the side of where the lump is - and the lump suddenly grew in my epigastric region over the next few hours. It isn't generally painful, only when it's hit, I bend or stretch (also sitting for long perioRAB aggrevates it)
The lump is firm-ish but spongey, kinda like fat. And is incredibly painful if I try to lift my legs while on my back or try sit ups.
I've had two Ultrasound scans, an X-Ray, seen 2 doctors and 4 surgeons... all the scans show NOTHING even though they can feel the lump. No hernia, no hematoma, no swelling or muscle tears. I've tried anti-inflamatries and muscle relaxers for 5 months with no change.
Furthermore, my doctor pressed too hard between my ribs/top of sixpac and REALLY hurt me. Ever since I've had a small bruise that "bleeRAB" across in a horizontal line. This is always painful and hasn't gone despite it being FIVE MONTHS.
Can anybody shed any light on these two problems?
