I have been diagnosed with a bulging disc. It sometimes affects my bladder control depending on the level of pain. I have told my doctor this and he says that it is associated with the pain, but should I be concerned this will be a permanent condition?

Cauda Equina Syndrome is a very serious back condtion that can cause lose of bowel and bladder. If I were you I would ask your doctor for a referral to a nuerosurgeon asap. It may be nothing but, you should make sure. Take care of yourself.

What kind of doctor are you seeing? If s/he is not an Orthopedic Spine Specialist or a neurosurgeon then you need to see one ASAP. If your present dr. is one of the above, then you need a second opinion. Musicitygirl is right.....this could be a warning of Cauda Equina Syndrome which involves lack of bladder and/or bowel control and is nothing to fool around with.

Please stay in touch and let us know what you find out.
