Lucas Does It Again

That ending is just plain dumb. Lucas just seems to be tweaking it for the sake of it.

Just wait and see, in a few years he'll change the ewoks back to wookies like he originally wanted, which mea\ns he'' have to change the "Ewoks" cartoon and the 2 Ewok movies.

I can't belive that. Theres just something about the cgi used...doesn't look 'polished' enough for Lucas.

Having said that I did hear rumours a while back that he wanted to add all sorts of things from the prequels (such as some of the music and yes, flashbacks) to the original films although this was unconfirmed and sounRAB like a very bad idea to me.

Has Enrique Inglesias (sp) remixed the music too?

Goodness me. He really can't leave anything alone, can he?

How about he spenRAB more time on the scripts and less on the expensive CGI next time around. Who knows, he might end up with some movies that aren't soul-suckingly awful.

I am quite sure that Hayden will be in the ROTG re-mix as it has been reported elsewhere. I think it sort of makes sense to tie up the 6 films, but agree that it will be odd next to the other scences with the helmet off...To have a younger looking Anakin next too Alec as Obi is also odd, why not go the whole hog and put Ewan in too? How the final look will pan out we only have a fews to wait to find out....

How hard would it have been to make the film branching to the orginal version? I guess George just cant accept that many like the original versions next to the extra cgi in the "specials"

Yeh... not totally convinced thats real... Although it wouldn't surprise me if it was. Like you say... Why a young Anakin and an old Obi (and older yoda for that matter?) Although, can you imagine the fan up roar if he removed Alec for Ewan!

I'm wasn't totally against the last lot of cgi, as he was just adding cgi elements where he couldn't afford or were impossible before. I can see both sides though, and I do wish he'd release an original, untouched version for those that want it. :)

CGI seems to be the scapegoat for lack of ingenuity.
Take the speeders in star wars 1. They hovered which was great but the way it was shot either rocks hiding the wheels or using vaseline to create the shimmer effect was just brilliant and believeable.

I see CGI in the first one and thing hmm ok looks good but didnt really add to a story for me. The 2nd one ive not even bothered to rent out. Lucas has a lot to prove for the next and final one.

Back to the clip. If its real why doesnt he look the same age as ben or at least old enough to be lukes dad?

Does this also mean that the actors who have been digitised out of the films won't receive the royalties from the dvd they were presumably entitled to? Doesn't seem fair if that is the case.

Star Wars Link

Looks like it's true...
An interesting link for you all...

For the most part, he seems to be cleaning up bad matte lines, colour correction, and lil technical things that had obviously been bugging him, which I have no problem with.

What's interesting is he's actually even redone some of the cgi from the '97 release (like the Jabba sequence in IV.)

It's the changes made to try and tie the whole thing together are the things that are really going to upset people.

My only theory on this, is that you only get to turn into a 'blue glowie' if you are on the light side of the force, therefore Anakin is shown as he was before he turned... Although he does redeem himself at the end, so it doesn't totally work, but it's the best I can come up with... :D

Come to think of it, why isn't Qui Gon there too?...

Cause... could just all be a cynical marketing ploy by Lucas, but I find that highly unlikely... ;) :D
